Office Programs

An Office Program is a suite of programs that include, but not limited to: Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation and Database Management.

Some programs will require a one-off payment or a subscription, while others are free and open source. Office programs can be either installed on your PC or run in the Cloud from your browser.

Microsoft

Microsoft Office comes in three different forms:
1: Microsoft 365 a Subscription Service. Plans and Pricing
2: Microsoft One Drive, a cloud file-hosting service. Allows registered users to store, share and sync their files. OneDrive also works as the storage backend of the web version of Microsoft 365 / Office. OneDrive offers 5 GB of storage space free of charge, with 100 GB, 1 TB, and 6 TB storage options available either separately or with Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

3: Microsoft Office stand alone one off purchase. Retail versions can only be installed on one PC. However there are options to purchase a site licence where you can install the package on more than one PC.

The Microsoft Office Suite of Progams comes with many applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access and Publisher are the main ones.

Microsoft Publisher is scheduled to reach its end of life on October 13, 2026. After this date, Publisher will no longer be included in Microsoft 365 plans. Publisher will no longer be available as a standalone Microsoft program.

Microsoft announced the end of support for Publisher in February 2024. The company says that most of the features for creating templates, labels, and envelopes are already available in other Microsoft 365 applications. Microsoft also says that Publisher's focus on the desktop is becoming outdated as the company shifts to cloud-based tools and apps

Microsoft Access is a data base management program and is maked "PC Only" on the Microsoft Web Sites. This means that Access has be be installed on your pc and is not available on line.
